HERE'S HOW WE DO THINGS HERE
obey, or bellatrix will torture you. she's watching. don't skim.

one. don't type about doing drugs or having sex. it's against proboards TOS, and quite frankly, it's highly unnecessary. posts are to be at least two very strong paragraphs, or about 250 words. will we count? no. will we notice if you're slacking? absolutely. we are literate. grammar and spelling mistakes should be minimal. we are not AU. harry doesn't have a sister and snape's not getting married. play out your character in other situations? yes. make them act ooc? no.

two. log in every day through all of your accounts. this rule will be enforced heavily, and accounts that are not logged in after three days without an excused absence will be deleted. OCs may be given some leeway. canons will not. if you don't wanna be here, we don't want you here. simple stuff. how many characters can you have? as many as you can log in with daily. however, you may only have two major canons, and they can't conflict with each other as far as posting goes. a canon is considered to be major if the removal of him or her from the plot would be a problem. pretty much, pretend our plot included that Jack was killed. Does that make the forum AU? if it does, Jack is a major canon. not sure about your canon? just ask. OCs may not be related to canons in any way.

three. signatures must be no wider than 500 px and no taller than 300 px; icons must be an even 100 x 100. don't stretch the board. it's obnoxious, in a bad way. face claims must be celebrities and may not be cartoon, animals, or anime. to avoid controversy, all face claims of canons must be the actors from the films, unless the particular actor is especially difficult to find pictures of IC (ie katie bell, angelina johnson). don't try to use a 30 year old actor to play a 14 year old kid. the general rule i use is within 5 years, but i know some people like to push it more. it always depends on how old the playby looks, if you can get younger looking pictures, and special circumstances with your character.

four. immaturity will not be tolerated. don't be rude. swear if you feel the need to do so, but don't be vulgar and don't make it every other word that you use. it just lowers your IQ. don't be whiny immature either. if you have a problem, take it up with the staff. if you have a problem with the staff, you're out of luck. if you've got someone personal to talk about with another member, do it off the site.

five. mary sues will not be accepted. period. we can and will reject on the premise of "this character is a mary sue". some things go without saying. like hogwarts students are residents of the united kingdom, people are sorted into their houses for a reason, not everyone has dead parents, and nobody gets bullied for being attractive and smart. original characters need to be ORIGINAL. they should NOT remind us of canons. don't make me write a five page book on everything you can't do. be smart. about those originals.. for every two you make, your third character has to be a canon.

we appreciate you taking the time to read through this, as we know how boring and annoying it can be. you are responsible for knowing this information, and if you disagree with something, don't try to join and get around it. just don't join if something bothers you that much. otherwise, we'd LOVE to meet you(:
