They really had to get up soon if they didn't want to be awoken by Rose's loud voice. Fred and Lee were expecting Rose to come and hang out with them any minute, but Fred was nowhere near ready to get up. Vacation was coming to an end and they didn't have many more days to sleep in, so of course, they were going to stay up late while they still could. However, no matter how many times they had a chance to get used to it, staying up late meant waking up late. The twin began to drag himself out of bed lazily, not getting anywhere before toppling off of his bed and onto the floor. He really didn't have a problem with staying there all day, but he knew he'd have to stand sooner or later.
Not only was the whole being-tired-and-having-to-get-up thing a reason to dread Rose's arrival, but something else kept reappearing in Fred's mind. Ever since the night he and Lee got yelled at by Rose after returning to burrow, Fred had noticed something about her and the way she approached the whole situation. It was clear that she didn't know what happened, and that she knew they weren't going to tell her at that time. She wouldn't have dropped the subject if she had believed that she could get it out of them. Every time the three were together since, it'd been a really touchy topic. It was time to get prepared for some sharing, because it'd been quite a while and the whole let's-pretend-it-didn't-happen thing was not going to work for much longer.
Leeeriefiwfn. She's gonna be here soon, he muttered, pushing himself up from the floor. Nearly stumbling as soon as he got to his feet, Fred waited for Lee to show signs of life before continuing. Look, yanno the whole thing Rose pulled about us being assholes and all? It wasn't like he even needed to explain what he was talking about by that point. The subject hadn't left their minds for a minute since it happened. She didn't actually mean it-- well.. the asshole part was probably serious.. but she knew we were lying, and she's gonna find out what happened if we don't tell her. Thinking back on it, Fred was surprised it had taken him so long to realize this. He figured that he hadn't been in the mood to listen to Rose and use logic while laying out on the grass at obscene hours of the night. I mean, think about it. She shut up about that way too quickly. She shut up because she knew that wasn't a good time to get it out of us. He explained best he can in the exhausted state that he was in, all the while readying himself for the day.

It was always nice to get woken up early by a voice that didn't belong to a needy, bored, or otherwise annoying female. Okay. Not really. It wasn't NICE. It was nicER- emphasis on the er. Getting woken up in general wasn't nice. But Lee could live with this. He waved his hand to confirm he was listening (kinda sorta not really) and eventually actually gave Fred his attention.... which he totally regretted a minute later. This was getting less "nicer" and much more "otherwise annoying female" the more he talked.
"You know, there are a whole lotta good incentives to get someone to wake up. 'Rose is coming and she's randomly acquired mind reading skills' regrettably did not make that list." Rolling his eyes less than ecstatically, Lee kept going with the sarcasm thing while he woke up more and got out of bed. There should really be a wait-at-least-ten-minutes-after-people-have-opened-their-eyes-before-starting-with-the-serious-conversation rule, but then again, as often as people gave them orders while they were half awake, it wasn't like they had any good influences.
"You saying she used logic? You know this is ROSE we're talking about, right?" Lee sighed and ran his hands through his hair. Fred was probably right. He was making perfect sense. It was just... too early for this shit. "How's she gonna find out if we don't tell her?" Sure, she might be able to guess pretty easily that they weren't tree surfing, but it wasn't like there was something in writing anywhere that accounted exactly what happened to them. The other Weasleys didn't even know it all. "You're not saying we have to.. come on Fred. It's over. She's not gonna.. well, she is.. but she's... fine."

Fred had to admit that he really didn’t go about waking up Lee in the most..practical way.. but what was he supposed to say? He sure’s hell wasn’t going to deal with Rose alone, and as much as he wanted her to be oblivious about what happened, it seemed that the situation would be better and more quickly dropped if they could just tell her. They could even leave out like..50..75.. more like 98% of the details. It just seemed that the problem was going to stay with them until they talked. And they did still have a problem. No need to reference the whole Diagon Alley trip, right? Yea. That day wouldn’t have even turned into a nightmare if they didn’t have a problem. Might as well get it over with, right? Or..like..they could be afraid of getting coffee for the rest of their lives. They could do that too. Either, or.
You’re right, faulty thinking on my part. Hey, you go back to sleep, and this time you’ll wake up to coffee I brewed for you while I tell you happier news. Liiike.. Rose lost her voice. Yea. Sounds good. He had to give Lee the credit, though. He was lucky to have gotten the indication from Lee that he was sort of paying attention (well, either that or his hand was twitching). Fred had woken up in a sarcastic mood, so he expected nothing less from Lee. It sucks. You don’t wanna think about it and you’re tired. So’s he. It did sound kind of out there when Lee suggested that Rose was using logic. Fred just didn’t have another explanation for it.
Lee ran his fingers through his hair, which Fred understood as an indication that he was thinking about it, and that he wasn’t happy. Obviously, Lee wasn’t the type to go around complaining about being stressed or concerned, so seeing this gesture showed Fred how annoyed with the situation he really was. That’s exactly what I’m saying. I know. Crazy.. but she’s gonna figure it out. You want this to be over or not? They’d really been lucky to have gone that long without fessing up. If they were really lucky, they wouldn’t have to do it twice. Good morning, he added as if he hadn’t forgotten.
